In Which There Is Another Reason For Sanford To Resign, As If There Weren't Enough Already

Read this first. I'll wait here. [whistling tunelessly, looking at random pictures]

[doo dee do dee do...another gratuitous Maddow picture]

You're back? Good. I want us all to be on the same page. I wonder if this past week's "hiking" trip was on the taxpayer's Master Card too?

I remember a Rachel rant on AAR about disgraced politicians giving their tearful apology press conferences with their tight-lipped wives beside them. So yay for Mrs. Sanford for letting the sorry, hypocritical bastard stand out there alone with his arrogance hanging out of his pants.

  1. Rachel was too embarrassed to read Sanford's not THAT steamy email on TV. Too cute, lol.

  2. I must disagree. The part about her holding 2 parts of herself, the sun glinting, or whatever it was. Yipes. I couldn't say that out loud either. It's not that I'm a prude, it's just that saying such mushy, sexy stuff out loud is too embarrassing. Even if I was directing it to the object of my affections, I would write it down, and just point to it.

  4. I think it's cute that she was getting embarassed, AND I wouldn't want to read it on the air, either! Gawd, the party of family values sure is having a helluva time keeping their peckers in their pants lately, don't'cha think, Kids?

Yeah, I agree, good for the Mrs. to let the SOB hang out there to dry on his own. His poor litle boys...breaks your heart to see their little stair-stepped heads and knowing how he's now disrupted their little lives. Pretty crappy.

Thanks for the link, CEP, to the blogpost. Summed it all up quite nicely. I could not believe this guy would go out there without a written statement and blather on, waxing romantically about the whole thing getting away from them, "as these things do," etc. Puh-leeze!

Great post. Loved the whistling and looking at pics as I had a chance to read. LOL!

  5. ...Every night at 6 I have to keep remindng myself that even political wonks deserve a vacation, too! But they gotta get someone else to do the job. This gal 'aint cutting it...big sneakers to fill, but still, they gotta do better. Why not AMC, I wonder?
By the way, CEP, hope your birthday was very happy! :)

  6. I have to ask, given the circumstances of MJ's death, what Rachel would have done had she not been on vacation all week? I just can't picture her pouring over MJ for an hour every night. Had she not been on vacation anyway, I hope she would have taken one at the last minute.

Nothing against MJ, I was and am a huge fan of his music, I still have two of his albums on vinyl, original releases. But his demise is getting more air time than everything else going on in the news, more than Princess Diana got when she was killed, and even more than Elvis. He is the king of pop, not Lord Emperor of Earth. I hope the story retreats this week somewhat so we can find out what's up in the two wars we're fighting, Iran, North Korea and its missiles, Gov. Sanford's torrid affair, etc.

I feel like I'm in an information vacuum!
